 Freedom Fighter Mahatma Gandhiji (1869 - 1948) Mahatma gandhi was one of the great freedom fighter. Gandhiji was born on 2nd October in 1869 in Porbandar. Gandhiji Full name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. His Father's name was Karamchand Uttamchand Gandhi was diwan of Porbandar and Mother's name was Putlibai Gandhi. Gandhiji was married at the age of 15, he's wife name was Kasturba. He went to London to study Law/Advocacy.He remained away from meat and fish. He faught against colour discrimination in South Africa from 1893 to 1914. In India we fondly called him "Bapu" and "Gandhiji".The title "Mahatma" was given to him in South Africa in 1914.
